End of Term Message from Mr Marshall

Dear Parent/Carer,

As we reach the end of an incredibly busy autumn term, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support for the work we do here at Mossley Hollins. Our students have been involved in extensive learning both inside and outside the classroom. We are proud of the way that students work in class and will always work with you to achieve the best academic outcomes for your child.

The latest data for year 11 following the recent Pre-Public Examinations (our in-school ‘Mock Exams’) is very promising for most of our learners and we are confident that with continued hard work the students can achieve strong results in their examinations in 2020. In an increasingly competitive world, it has never been more important for students to achieve the highest grades possible to help them secure the best college places and other post-16 opportunities.

Our school, of course, is not just about results: we are determined to provide high quality educational and character-building experiences for all our young people. We are delighted that the number of students taking part in extracurricular activities, so important to developing leadership, self-confidence and character, has never been higher. The Year 7 students, who have settled quickly into our Mossley Hollins Way, have been afforded many opportunities for further Character Development and are working towards apprentice level in each of our four character pillars: Learning; Participation; Service; and Leadership. We are looking forward to the first Character Awards’ Ceremony next term and will write to parents of year 7 students in the next calendar year.
